Thirty Recipes Suitable for Framing (Goines + Alice Waters)
Exactly what it’s title suggest—but what it doesn’t call attention to is that this beautiful thing is also a bit of David Lance Goines and Alice Waters juvenilia, produced when they were 23 and 24 respectively. They hadn’t even settled on what they wanted to be called! (She with her middle name and him without.) Written and illustrated by the young Goines, you can see signs of the style that he would later come to be famous for. And Waters wouldn’t open Chez Panisse for another three years. A special thing and a good way to force your interest in lettering, design, and illustration on the foodie in your life.
