[3 sets of letterheads and envelopes designed by Paul Rand]
It’s easy to forget there was a time before email. (Since we started typing this description, we’ve received three emails.) In the Before Times, we were in contact with one another by letter. We would compose these letters on letterheads and place them in envelopes. When it was time to hit “send,” we would put stamps on the envelope and put it in . . . OK. We’ve lost interest in this joke. But what we have not lost interest in are these three letterheads and three matching envelopes designed by Paul Rand. Actually, apparently the IDEO letterhead was designed by IDEO, but the logo was Rand’s (from 1991) and we believe this was an early incarnation when they were trying to turn IDEO into an acronym even though it wasn’t. Anyway, this comes with a matching set for the Connecticut Art Director’s Club (1986) and Monell Chemical Senses Center (1989).
- IDEO: 8.5 × 11 inches with 10 × 13-inch envelope
- CAD: 8.5 × 11 inches with No. 10 envelope
- Monell: 5.5 × 8.5 inches with No. 6¾ envelope
- Pages: 3 sheets + 3 envelopes
- Binding: NA
- Condition: Fine
- Note: Please know that the first pic above shows the letterhead placed on the matching envelope and placed at an angle. It’s not a giant gray thing with a white, angled rectangle in the middle.
- Publisher: Various, 1986–1991
