[a 2-page letter from Beatrice Warde to Paul A. Bennet + a picture postcard of Warde’s father, composer Gustave Becker]

$120.00

As one ages, talk is less about type and more about health and death. This letter from Monotype’s publicity manager Beatrice Warde to Linotype’s director of typography Paul A Bennet, is proof. But she does throw in some typographic reference as she closes by noting “It is the most charming of ironies that my dearest and most dependable friend in the American typographical work should be the bright star of the Opposition.” Includes a postcard portrait of BW’s 97-year-old father.
