Alphabete der D. Stempel AG

$400.00

Let’s address the elephant in the room: This thing is as big as an elephant. It features twenty-one BIG showings of Stempel faces. The types shown here are, like, 144-point. (Mom: That's about two inches from the top of a b to the bottom of a q.) So, this is made for showing off. Pin up a 21.5 × 21.625-inch showing of your favorite mid-century Stempel faces. (It looks like the previous owner did as a few of these sheets have pinholes in the corners.) While we are currently spoiled in that we can now see type as big as our monitors will allow, this is a good reminder that type was once physical and seeing it big meant making it big. WorldCat shows just two copies in Europe—which seems suspicious.

Note 1: We’re not sure we have a box for this. It might take us a little longer than usual to ship this.
