Flora Exotica

When we first moved to Cambridge we made a careful study of signs and lettering around the city in order create a sort of navigational system for ourselves. One of the first signs to catch our eye was this one for the Harvard Ukrainian Research Center. We’ve no idea how we determined that Jacques Hnizdovsky made the image at the bottom, but once we did, we were hooked on his work—and this book only sunk that hook deeper. These striking, simple, and confident woodcuts get us every single time.
