Sonia Delaunay: Robes et Gouaches Simultanées

$300.00
We didn’t know what this book was when we came across it, but we knew it was something special. Sonia Delaunay’s name was unknown to us, but her work was not. We’d seen pictures of this a zillion times. We’re grateful this book gave us the kick-in-the-pants we needed to finally learn more. But allow us to rip-off a sentence from the MoMA site: “Red and green, blue and orange, yellow and violet: these color combinations were vital to the artistic practice and theory of Sonia Delaunay-Terk, whose vast body of work—paintings and drawings, prints and illustrations, textiles and furnishings, clothing and accessories—enthralled its earliest viewers, users, and wearers.” This book is a showing of Delaunay’s textiles and clothing, and although only printed in black-and-white, the book is still immensely colorful. A total show-stopper.
