The Letter Cutter: The Life and Work of John Howard Benson

What’re you interested in? Letters? Sculpture? RISD? Boats? Rhode Island history? If you answered yes to any of those, then this book is for you. Most likely you only answered Yes to the question about letters, so let’s start (and finish) there. The Letter Cutter covers the life and work of John Howard Benson, the  calligrapher, stonecarver, incised letter designer, author, and educator, who brought the John back to the John Stevens Shop—and revived the art of lettering in this country. This description doesn’t do him justice, but the book does.

Note: Curiously, WorldCat only list one copy in a library. How can that be?
