Our forty-sixth Standing-Room-Only Lecture will have Lynne Yun coming from crown Town to talk about the fact that the desire for good fortune and happiness is as old as humanity itself and that across cultures, this longing takes material form in charms, symbols, and talismans. She’ll take a look at Korean talismans that feature letterforms, and consider how written forms move beyond communication to become vessels for desire.
Our speaker, Lynne Yun, is a NYC-based type designer, educator and technologist. Lynne is a founder of Space Type, a studio practice operating at the intersection of type and technology. She also recently co-founded Type Electives, an online design school shaping the future of type.

Standing-Room Only Lectures aim to present short talks about graphic design, typography, and collecting. The lectures are kept to about twenty minutes because—true to its name—the series takes place in our standing-room only gallery. So, wear comfortable shoes and bring a short attention span.
