Friends of Katherine Small Gallery (and people paying attention) will know that ours is not an art gallery. But sometimes we make exceptions. We were so taken by Leanne Shapton’s paintings for American Wildflowers that we asked if we could have a show of them. (Artists take note: Don’t ask us. We’ll ask you.) Although only on display into January, these five paintings in largely autumnal colors are gonna bloom all year long.
Leanne Shapton is an author, artist, and publisher based in New York City. She is currently the art editor at The New York Review of Books and is the co-founder of J&L Books, an imprint specializing in art and photography books. Her works have appeared in various publications such as The New York Times, Granta, and The New Yorker.
