To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Bauhaus in Germany (and, perhaps, ride on the coattails of the Bauhaus exhibition at the Harvard Art Museums down the street) we've assembled a modest showing of banknotes designed by Herbert Bayer. A student and then an instructor at the school, Bayer designed these official government-issued notes when he was just 23 years old. While it's not hard to find pictures of these banknotes on the Internet (or in books), one rarely gets to see them in real life. Here's an opportunity to see them as close as your nose will allow.
