Signwriter’s “Neuland” (Ged Palmer)
Once when were in the hospital (or, in hospital as they say in England), one of our nurses was a retired sign painter. Her name was Jean. She took good care of us. Ever since, we’ve had a soft spot for sign painters. Or, signwriters as they’re called in England. Recently we asked English signwriter Ged Palmer if he’d make us three alphabets so we could save you a trip to England. Here’s one. It’s based on Rudolf Koch’s Neuland, has all the basic caps (although the V and W are one), a question mark, and is a handsome showing of how it can be done. And lucky for us, he made a movie about it!
