[9 silver prints of Hermann Zapf at R.I.T. in the 1970s]
We know where these photographs were taken, but we don’t know when they were taken. They were definitely taken when Hermann Zapf was at R.I.T. But was it 1969 when he received the Goudy Award or 1977 when he was named the Cary Professor? Because Howard Gralla is there in a jacket and tie we’re guessing 1977. Also in the shots are Archie Provan and Herb Johnson. And maybe the back of Doc Leslie? And is that woman possibly Gudrun Zapf von Hesse? We don’t have a sense as to how tall she was. Anyway, here are some silver gelatin prints which chronicle Zapf teaching, talking, writing, and looking. They come with free permission to write to R.I.T. with the hope that they’ll know when these were from.
