A Basic Formal Hand (Third Revised Edition)
Anyone who wishes to become a worthy penman must acquire a familiarity with at least three basic alphabets: the classical Roman capitals, from which all western writing styles stem; a basic formal manuscript hand, and a cursive hand for everyday and informal use. Or, so said David Lance Goines. This book is about the second style—the basic formal. We could see ourselves using this to address envelopes if we actually sent letters. Or, we could just use it to show off. Either way, this is a lovely showing of writing, lettering, and DIY design by a guy who did it all.
