[Amsterdamsche Grafische School samples]
The Amsterdamsche Grafische School was a vocational printing school in Amsterdam—hence the name. Lolke Ronner was the director. Its telephone number was 32945. But that’s not important. What’s important is that this is an envelope with printing samples and color studies by students. The school opened in 1918 and Ronner died in 1951, so this is from sometime between those two dates. We don’t have it in us to inspect the types used and figure out if they’d indicate a terminus post quem. It’d be neat if we did. It’d be neater if you did. Either way, it’s a good showing of respectable typography, good printing, and student work—three exceedingly uncommon things in one piece.
