[An alphabet by Hermann Zapf for Philip Hofer]
Imagine being in charge of a collection of books at Harvard and being able to ask Hermann Zapf to make an alphabet for you. Philip Hofer must’ve lived a pretty charmed life. Anyway, ol’ HZ scratched out this handsome alphabet for Phily in 1959 and surrounded it with a few thoughts about letters and reading and the like, each in a distinct hand. This was printed at Meriden Gravure and probably distributed to friends of Hofer. Get this and be one of his friends, too.
