Barnacles from Many Bottoms

$900.00

This is the second book published by The Typophiles and was created as a surprise 65th birthday tribute to the dean of American book design, Bruce Rogers. The title is a play on Rogers’s famous mark—a thistle—and his love for maritime themes (hence “Barnacles”). The book is an exquisite festschrift of printing as each section was printed by a different shop or designer, showcasing a dizzying array of paper stocks, typefaces, and illustrative styles with contributions by fifty-five notables including Ruzicka, Angelo, Fass, Goudy, Bennett, Dwiggins, Rushmore, Adler, Beilenson, Cary, Blumenthal, Hess, and Trenholm.
