[bookplate by Leonard Baskin]

$200.00

Not long ago we learned that Herb Fox died. He was the first printer we ever worked for. It was in his shop that we first saw a book from Leonard Baskin’s Gehenna Press: Presumptions of Death. It’s what got us interested in books. Unfortunately we lost track of Herb and are annoyed to learn he was just a few miles from here. Anyway, speaking of death and Leonard Baskin and Herb, here’s a bookplate printed by Herb, designed and illustrated by Leonard Baskin with a skull. (The skull is the death part of the equation.) Herb signed it and wrote a little note to “Mike,” explaining that this was a photogravure and he printed 2,000 of them by hand. It also bears his chop mark, a fox designed by Baskin. A sweet, uncommon thing.
