“Castalian Spring” + “Loose for a Little While”
It’s April 6 in the year 2000. Seamus Heaney is in town after he won the Nobel Prize in Literature. Stratis Haviaras is always in town. Seamus is giving a reading at a lecture series named after Stratis. Our pals at Pressed Wafer aren’t yet our pals, but they ask our pal Katherine McCanless (before she was Katherine M. Ruffin, the author of this book) to produce a broadside to commemorate the occasion. Katherine set the two poems in Palatino and printed them on one sheet at the Bow & Arrow Press in a dank Harvard basement. Signed by both Seamus and Stratis, this one came to us (we think) from the staff at Pressed Wafer.
