Celestino Piatti: Everything I Paint Has Eyes

$89.50

We’ve been waiting 100 years for this book. Celestino Piatti was so good. Published on the centennial of his birth, it celebrates the more than 500 posters and 6,000 book covers he designed, mainly for the dtv publishing house. His graphic renderings of emotions and his imaginative images have marked the visual memory of several generations and still make a lively impact today. We can’t love his work more.

With a wealth of iconic works as well as finds from the family’s private archive unpublished to date, this book tells the story of a designer obsessed by his profession. It outlines Piatti’s artistic career and highlights the extraordinary diversity of his oeuvre. Individual works are commented on and contextualized by some of Piatti’s companions and by graphic experts of today.
