Code of Fair Practice for the Graphic Communications Industry (Bradbury Thompson)
In 1945 a group of artists and art directors in New York City, concerned with growing abuses, misunderstandings, and disregard of standards of conduct in their field, met to consider possibilities for improvement. They reached the conclusion that any effort, to be successful, must start with widespread backing and continue as a regular activity. This is the revised code they put together in 1989. It was designed by Bradbury Thompson and given to Steve Heller. Good luck finding another with that kind of provenance. (Or even one without that kind of provenance.)
