Czeschka Antiqua
Carl Otto Czeschka was an Austrian painter and graphic designer associated with the Wiener Werkstätte. In 1914, Genzsch & Heyse produced this type after his drawings. We’ve no idea how we’d ever use this in our own work, but we can totally appreciate how lovely these letters are. We suppose we could see this used on candles or soaps or jam. There is a digital version, but we think you should make your own—complete with all the ornaments, illustrations, and variants. It’s kind of a stunner. And that goes double for this specimen book.
