Fifteen Award Winning Type Face Designs

In this booklet we are pleased to present the fifteen award winning entries in the National Type Face Design Competition for 1965, sponsored by Visual Graphics Corporation, manufacturer of the Photo Typositor, the Posteriter, and film type fonts. Each designer received a cash award and a royalty contract. Some are still in use today. Some are lost to history. The judges were remarkably impressive: Lucian Bernhard, Alvin Eisenman (This is actually his copy.), Paul Rand, Bradbury Thompson, Arnold Bank, Lester Beall, Will Burtin, Lou Dorfsman, Robert Jones, Herb Lubalin, Klaus Schmidt, and Carl Zahn.
