Hobo Signs

Part artist’s book. Part reference book. A really nice thing. It gives a casual and graphic history of hobo signs, the marks that migrant workers left to warn and inform as they travelled across communities. Think of them as a secret graphic language about survival. Beautiful and useful—and a remarkable show of restraint because it is not set in this face.
