Homenaje póstumo a Bertrand Russell (Lorenzo Homar)
It’s February 26, 1970, and time for a posthumous tribute to Bertrand Russell, the British philosopher who died twenty-four days ago. This obviously calls for a 5-color silkscreen poster by Lorenzo Homar. Think about it. Totally worth it just for his lettering. Also, the following is swiped from the Poster House site. They had a show of Homar’s posters that you just missed: “Lorenzo Homar was a pioneering printmaker, poster designer, calligrapher, painter, illustrator, caricaturist, and costume and theatrical set designer. Active from the 1950s through the 1990s, few equal his impact and influence as a teacher of poster design and printmaking in Latin America.” This is one of those pioneering posters.
- Size: 21.5 × 35.5 inches
- Pages: 1 sheet
- Binding: NA
- Condition: Good, but with chips, creases, and very small tears at the edges. There’s a lot of ink on this one. Rolled for an eternity, though. We’ve had it flat and under weight for weeks. It’s definitely less tight, but still has a curl. Check the hi-res photo here.
