[Julian Waters business card (of sorts)]
This little sheet was issued by calligrapher and type designer Julian Waters. The word CALLIGRAPHY is set in his Waters Titling, so we went to the Internet to remind ourselves when that face was first issued so that we might guess at when this was printed. 1997. That’s when it was first published by Adobe—but you know what’s fucked up? The Adobe site credits Robert Slimbach with the design. We get things wrong all the time, but we’re not a Fortune 500 company trading on the NASDAQ. But you know what? That credit might not be 100% wrong. It turns out that Robert Slimbach did a lot of work on Waters Titling. Still, a credit for Julian Waters seems like it should be in order. Who wants to start the petition? Anyway, a nice specimen of nice work by a good designer.
