Luminario; or, The Third Chapter of the Liber Elementorum Litterarum on the Construction of Roman Capitals
World War II is finally over and what is everyone at Harvard thinking about? The history of calligraphy and lettering. Philip Hofer decides it’s high time to publish a series of books on the topic and this is the first. It includes a survey of constructed roman alphabets and then translates and reproduced a near-forgotten chapter from Verini’s Elements of Lettering printed in the 1520s. A dry read with lots of things to steal. We think you could easily turn this into a striking set of roman caps for digital distribution and profit.
