Marken und Signete
There’s a warmth to this special book that always gets us. Where does it come from, that warmth? Probably from the fact that these 471 logos and marks largely look to be made with a hand and a pen and without rulers, compasses, or French curves. There’s a humanity in these marks that is missing in the work of today’s designers. This is not to say that anything done by hand is excellent. The percentage of good work done by hand is the same as the percentage of good work done by computer: Small. This just happens to be a carefully curated collection with loads more good than bad.
