Neue Schriftvorlagen zum Gebrauch [...] (Rudolf Koch)

$320.00

Of this item, Jerry Cinamon writes: “Rudolf Koch’s instruction book of lettering, [and then he types the whole long title in German] (New Writing Pattern Book for the Use of Letterers, Artists, Book Printers, Punch Cutters and Craftsworkers), was published in 1925 with the collaboration of the Darmstadt Museum of Applied Arts. The sixteen plates were issued in a similar style to his Klassische Schriften, as a loose portfolio, presumably for ease of tracing. The alphabets were lettered by both Koch and his assistant Friedrich Heinrichsen. Eight of the plates showed alphabets in varieties of Roman script, including uncial; the remaining eight plates were headed by German script.” Of this item, we write: “An uncommon (and uncommonly complete) showcase of Koch’s lettering and a good thing to steal from.”
