Pinturas de Noemi Ruiz (Jose Rosa)
It’s 1968 and the Instituto de Cultura Puertorriqueña in San Juan is showing the works of Puerto Rican artist Noemi Ruiz (1929–2023). The art director there gets Jose Rosa to design this 3-color poster to mark the occasion. Born in 1939, Rosa studied at the Taller del Instituto de Cultura Puertorriqueño (Graphic Arts Workshop of the Institute of Puerto Rican Culture) run by Lorenzo Homar (1913–2004) and later succeeded Homar as the workshop’s director.
- Size: 19.25 × 28.5 inches
- Pages: 1 sheet
- Binding: NA
- Condition: Fine, but five holes measuring about 3/32 of an inch randomly throughout. They’re not bug holes. We almost wonder if they were some sort of registration thing or something. Anyway, they’s small—but they are there. Rolled for an eternity. We’ve had it flat and under weight for weeks. It’s definitely less tight, but still has a curl.
