Postverzending per Nachtposttreinen (N.P. de Koo)

$300.00

Here’s a sweet little slip of paper that encourages posting mail by the evening so the night train can get it where it’s going for morning delivery. That’s good advice. Designed and hand-lettered by N.P. de Koo (1881–1960), known to designers and collectors who know, but not as well known to designers and collectors who don’t know. He designed loads of things for the PTT (the Dutch postal service) including their mail- and letterboxes. Primarily active as a graphic designer and interior designer, he also designed exhibitions, trade fair stands, a country house, and two mobile post offices. Not nearly as concerned with innovation as his contemporaries Zwart and Schuitema, he focused on doing good work, uncommonly well. This rare item is an example of that.
