Präge Vignetten (Embossed Vignettes)

$600.00

Whatever we write here and whatever you see above, it won’t be enough to convey how special this in. How many Klingspor specimens of embossed vignettes have you seen? Beautifully produced and exceedingly rare. No copies listed anywhere. Google reveals absolutely nothing. All we can do is look and appreciate the showing. You should just come in and see it. But barring that, here’s how Google translates the introduction:

Today we are increasingly encountering prints that show embossed letters, symbols or small pieces of jewelry. Such embossing gives the printed matter a special charm. Placed in a suitable free space, they appear elegant and unobtrusive, especially when accompanied by beautifully designed fonts. The three-dimensional effect can in some cases be enhanced by a second color.

Particularly impressive are pieces of jewelry that fit the task in terms of motif. A business advertisement or a business recommendation as a double card, the front of which has a beautiful, delicately embossed vignette while the text is distributed over the inner pages, will always appeal. The same applies to good luck wishes, family druid laughter, phonetic sequences, festival programs and the like. Until now, the printer had to have such embossed vignettes specially made, whereby the preparation of the design and the precise setting of the embossed stamp often involved relatively high costs and difficulties. In order to make the work of the druid trade easier and to promote the use of such decoration, we have had our artistic staff design a series of vignettes, of which the present sample shows applications. The selected motifs are suitable for many tasks in daily practice or serve as self-promotion for the printer.

The embossed vignettes are supplied in pressed material—a material that is ideal for this purpose. It enables particularly sharp embossing and is extremely durable. Our embossed vignettes offer book printing new possibilities for attractively decorating fine work.
