Pro Arte
Before there was Helvetica, there was Pro Arte. What are we talking about? This was Max Miedinger’s first published typeface design. And this a specimen book dedicated to that first published typeface design. One could be forgiven for thinking this face is only good for circus posters, but the specimens in this booklet show that with the proper pairing, this face can be wildly useful. A total beauty.
- Size: 11.5 × 8.25 inches
- Pages: 8
- Binding: Pamphlet
- Condition: Fine—except one page has some pencil squiggles on it. We think these were made by the printer as the squiggles highlight some under-inked areas that nobody would notice except a printer. It looks like they’ve marked it up for makeready.
