When one works on books about slabs, scripts, shadows, and stencils, one needs a lot of examples around. Like, when Louise Fili was working on Scripts, she picked up this fine sign for Shurfine Tea Bags. Boy! What a beauty! While we don’t generally enjoy tea ourselves (except when served like this), we really enjoy this sign. A hot showpiece from Louise Fili’s collection of amazing things—and this is the very item reproduced on page 281 of Scripts. Historic!
