UCLA 75 (Paul Rand)

Here’s a 1994 Paul Rand poster celebrating the first seventy-five years of the University of California, Los Angeles. We had no idea UCLA was so young. It must be the sun. Anyway, it’s well known that Rand loved working for UCLA. “I do the job, and they accept it.” is an oft-quoted quote. It’s too bad that more clients don’t realize that designers do their best work when they are left to do what they are trained to do. We’re like plumbers. One wouldn’t typically tell a plumber how to do their job. And when one does plumbing on their own, it’s easy to see because there’s shit all over the place. But we digress.
