When one works on books about slabs, serifs, shadows, and scripts, one needs a lot of examples around. Like, when Louise Fili was working on Scripts, she picked up this cover for Wohnungskunst (The Art of the Home) that emphasizes its merger with the Munich-based publication Die Raumkunst (Room Art). A striking piece of Jugendstil lettering by Otto Ottler (1891–1965) from the collection of Louise Fili—and this is the very item reproduced on page 136 of Scripts. Historic!
