We thought this came from one place but we were wrong. We don’t know where it comes from or how it was originally released by Walter Käch. (Here he spells is Kaech. Maybe his pen ran out of umlauts?) Regardless of where it comes from, it shows the proportional regularity in Roman capitals and the resulting relationship for determining the lowercase letter height as determined by Kaech. Or, by Käch. A fascinating thing from the collection of Max Caflisch—and for some reason it comes with a film negative of the diagram.
