Well, we just spent twenty minutes writing about this, but we weren’t too pleased with what we wrote. And then we accidentally hit refresh without saving the text. Oh, well. Let’s start over: Here’s a sweet alphabet by Karlgeorg Hoefer written in pencil on the front of an envelope. You know Hoefer from his Permanent face and the lettering used on German license plates. But he was also a prolific calligrapher and teacher. And one of his books is one of the best things we ever found and sold.
