Bread Competition (poster and production materials by Kenji Nakayama)
In the Spring a young man’s fancy lightly turns to thoughts of croissants. This is largely due to Elmendorf Baking Supplies and Le Grand Prix Elmendorf du Pain that takes place down the street in June. The latter is a competition where the winner becomes the official supplier of croissants to the French consulate in Boston. And like all Cambridge-based baking competitions, it’s got a poster by Kenji Nakayama. This one comes not with a croissant (alas) but with the original sketches and hand-painted films used to make this 3-color silkscreen.
