When one works on books about slabs, scripts, shadows, and stencils, one needs a lot of examples around. Like, when Louise Fili was working on Stencil Type, she picked up this fan for Calzature Casella in Venice. They sell shoes. Or maybe they make shoes. Either way, that place has been around for a long time. A lovely artifact that’ll keep you cool. And it’s from Louise Fili’s collection of amazing things.
