Centenario del tenor Antonio Paoli (Lorenzo Homar)
It’s 1971 and time to celebrate your favorite tenor: Antonio Paoli, the first Puerto Rican to gain international recognition in the performing arts. ¡Qué voz! This obviously calls for a multi-color silkscreen poster by Lorenzo Homar worth singing about. And this is totally worth it just for his lettering. Also, the following is swiped from the Poster House site. They had a show of Homar’s posters that you just missed: “Lorenzo Homar was a pioneering printmaker, poster designer, calligrapher, painter, illustrator, caricaturist, and costume and theatrical set designer. Active from the 1950s through the 1990s, few equal his impact and influence as a teacher of poster design and printmaking in Latin America.” This is one of those pioneering posters.
