Design Quarterly 118, 119: Meanings of Modernism
What is the meaning of Modernism? Or, put another way: What are the meanings of Modernism? The subtitle suggests that form, function, and metaphor are involved (but they don’t use the Oxford comma like we do. Being modernists, the editors probably think less is more). This issue is more about architecture than graphic design in that it is not about graphic design at all. But it comes from the collection of Steve Heller, so that’s close enough for this place.
