Anwesenheit bei Abwesenheit: Fotogramme und die Kunst des 20. Jahrhunderts (Bruno Monguzzi)
Designed by Bruno Monguzzi (and discreetly inscribed to designer/collector Tom Strong in the lower left corner), this poster is only thirty-six years old, but it’s already iconic. Produced for the 1990 Kunsthaus Zürich exhibition Anwesenheit bei Abwesenheit (Presence in Absence), an exploration of photograms in 20th-century art. Schweizerische Stiftung für die Photographie (Swiss Foundation for Photography) and curated by Walter Binder, it remains one of the most comprehensive historical surveys dedicated entirely to the medium of the photogram. A beautiful thing, suitable for framing.
