Herbert Matter: Retrospective Exhibition

Herbert Matter died on May 8, 1984. Five months later, the A+A Gallery at Yale mounted a retrospective exhibition for their fallen colleague who had taught there from 1952 to 1976—or so this poster suggests. Either way, a show needs a poster. David Williams got to work on this one, roping in Peter W. Johnson to help with the photography. A rare and striking poster in not-great shape.
