Jacques Hnizdovsky: Ex Libris
Oh, Jacques Hnizdovsky. How do we love thee? Let we count the ways. First, we’ll start (and end) with these fifty-four bookplates he designed. This is a lovely showcase of symbols and lettering, each the work of an innovative pro. A sweet thing showing what can be done with thoughtful care and a plank of wood. Also, it’s a good reminder of Ukraine. (He was Ukrainian.) Don’t forget there’s a war going on there, too.
