L&C Hairline
With regard to this face by Herb Lubalin and Tom Carnase, allow us to quote lazily from Fonts in Use:
“Designed circa 1965, an ultra light geometric sans serif akin to Kabel and Futura. ‘The alternates for many lowercase letters and the choice of full or shortened ascenders and descenders provided flexibility in a delicate, highly stylized, monoline design’ — Peter Bain ¶ Reproduced in Lettera 4 (1972) as Kabel Hairline. ¶ No official digital version exists. Bain produced a private revival. ICG offered a fairly sloppy rendition which is no longer available. Receding Hairline NF is a loose interpretation.”
