LoCoS: Lovers Communication System
LoCoS (short for Lovers Communication System) is a pictorial language developed by Yukio Ota of Japan in 1964. Intended for the deaf, the mute, and the illiterate, it was designed to be a universal and simple language. As Ota put it, “It should emphasize the importance of communication among all the people of all the countries of the world.” A neat idea. Your phone will help you translate it from Japanese—which may kinda defeat the point.
