Plakat 1: typestract (Dom Sylvester Houédard)
Here’s the very first issue of the Plakat broadside series from Openings Press in England. It’s got one of Dom Sylvester Houédard’s typestracts—concrete poems created on his Olivetti typewriter, here accompanied by some Monotype Grotesque. The most striking example of graphic work by a Benedictine monk that we’ve ever seen.
