Romulus Romein, Cursief, Halfvet Romein, Open Kapitalen & Cancelleresca Bastarda
Friends in Pasadena are dog-sitting. There are two dogs. One is Caramel. The larger is Romulus. So, here’s a specimen of Jan van Krimpen’s entire Romulus family. Although we agree that the sloped roman Cursief was a nice idea that didn’t work at all, we’ve often been attracted to the no-nonsense Romein. And Cancelleresca Bastarda was always a type we coveted when we were young printers. Anyway, a nice showing of a nice family—the type family we mean. Not the family that’s dog sitting.
