Schriftschreiben und Schriftzeichnen

$200.00

Usually we say this is the most beautiful book in the shop, but today we got Walter Brudi’s Schriftschreiben und Schriftzeichnen and think it might be a close competitor. It’s a slender volume of lettering and alphabets which originated from the book design class at the State Academy in Stuttgart, showing excerpts of numerous and varied lettering exercises necessary for securing technical and formal mastery of letters. The book begins with some elementary lettering based on the grid, constructed with compass and straightedge and particularly suitable for encouraging neat and precise work and for observing the most important optical laws. It only gets better from there and it is loaded with letters worth stealing.
