Swiss Posters of the year (Odermatt & Tissi)

Before there were fifty year poster exhibitions, there were single-year poster exhibitions. This one was designed by Sigfried Odermatt for the 1987 show of Swiss posters selected by the Ministry of Home and Cultural Affairs. A dramatic tribute to red, white, black, and some other colors. It also illustrates how a poster for a show of posters can’t actually include any of the posters because then the poster would be promoting whatever the illustrated posters were promoting—and that could be confusing. No confusing here. This one let’s us know exactly what it’s about—and it does it in four languages.
